Roxie spent fifty years behind the chair in Allentown, Pennsylvania — cutting, coloring, and eventually specializing in the delicate art of wigs and hairpieces for clients who needed more than a haircut. Along the way she picked up a sewing machine and never really put it down, turning twenty-five years of alterations into a second calling.
Now retired from the salon floor but not from the work she loves, Roxie brought that craft south to The Villages, Florida, where she owns two properties and has become one of the community's most familiar faces — the neighbor everyone calls first for a hem, a haircut, or an honest opinion.
Roxie's Alterations is the name for all of it — hair, hairpieces, and the sewing that started as a hobby and became a trade. One woman, one needle, one pair of scissors, and half a century of knowing exactly what her clients need.
